Naikong Chia Koua Xiong

Chia Koua2

Naikong Chia Koua Xiong was our family leader in Laos.  He led the family from the 1960’s to mid-1990’s.   He was both a family and military leader.   He resolved family conflicts within the family and also with other clans.  Other uncles were in charge of weddings and mediation, while he was in charge of the family culture and traditions.  Grandpa Chia Koua was well known throughout Laos and by many Hmong clans.  He was a fair, steady and very talented man.  Many people looked up to him and would follow him wherever he migrated.  He was the 5th generation of descendants from our great grandpa Xiong JeiVah.

Grandpa Chia Koua was married to Sai Yang, and they had many children.

Nao Tou Xiong

Nom Tub N Wife 2

After Grandpa Chia Koua Xiong had passed away in 1996, Grandpa Nao Tou became our family leader.  He led the family from 1996 until 2013 when he retired.  Grandpa Nao Tou was not only a family leader, but he was a soldier during the Vietnam War.  Many people in the U.S. know him for his services in the war and for being one of the very first Hmong to arrive in this country.  Grandpa Nao Tou was a crucial figure in sponsoring and finding ways to bring our Xiong JeiVah families to America.  Although Grandpa Nao Tou has retired, he continued to support the current leaders as an advisor to family planning and conflict resolution.

Grandpa Nao Tou married Xong Kue in 1967, and they have 10 children.
